The immersive power of binaural sound
Ever heard of binaural? It’s a recording method that aims to imitate natural human sound perception by delivering the sound through a headset. The result is truly immersive!
This sound recording technique holds no secrets for Lucie Hardoin, French specialist of 3D SOUND. To reproduce this phenomenon, Hardoin has a capture system that she inserts directly into her ears. She also uses a Neumann KU100 artificial head, which is now the global standard.
By faithfully capturing the sound territories that she explores, LUCIE HARDOIN creates sound landscapes that provide listeners with a sensation of real immersion.
This first Collection will take you on a trip to EGYPT, CAMBODIA, SENEGAL and TAIWAN!

The library encompasses 315 sounds of cracklings, frictions, impacts, and squashes. Part of the sounds were recorded in the field, on thin ice layers recovering lakes. Part were thoroughly recorded in studio. Also the debris sounds have a particularly interesting sonic texture due to the process of slightly melting and freezing again, which gives them this special crispy crusty quality.
